Picture this: Wanzi confidently standing atop a four-wheeled mobility scooter, paws on the steering wheel, and barking excitedly as it drives down a serene road in Meishan, Sichuan province. Stopping the Scooter: A Police Encounter
As unlikely as it sounds, Wanzi’s driving skills eventually caught the attention of a local traffic officer. According to reports from the South China Morning Post, Wanzi’s owner, a professional animal trainer with the surname Chen, was stopped but thankfully avoided a fine. Instead, he received a verbal warning, with the officer advising that “dogs are not allowed to drive on the road due to serious safety concerns,” and highlighting the importance of training in controlled environments.

Wanzi’s impressive driving skills are just a fraction of what this dog can do. Chen highlighted that the mobility scooter is specially modified for Wanzi, equipped with a power-off brake system for safety. Such an extraordinary accomplishment is a testament to Chen’s meticulous training methods.
But Wanzi isn’t just about driving. This remarkable dog can also ride a skateboard, take out the rubbish, and even switch on lights. Chen, who operates an animal training center, mentioned that Wanzi has a gentle disposition and particularly enjoys the thrill of skateboarding. However, the incident has ignited a heated debate on social media pertaining to public safety, with many questioning the appropriateness of such stunts in public spaces.
